Communities are the backbone of a just and sustainable future. When financial institutions, governments, and companies fail to uphold their responsibilities, community mobilization emerges as a powerful force for change. Communities directly impacted by decisions often lack a strong voice in traditional power structures. Mobilization gives them a platform to express their concerns and hold institutions accountable. International Accountability Project (IAP) believes that communities can share experiences and knowledge about the impact of development projects on their lives, raising awareness of potential injustices. By uniting, communities can amplify their demands and attract attention, putting pressure on institutions to respond.
