Postcard Advocacy Initiative
IAP is coordinating a regional postcard advocacy initiative in conjunction with the Asia-wide civil society campaign to strengthen the Asian Development Bank's Safeguard Policies. We are collecting powerful photos from communities affected by ADB-financed projects, which will be made into postcards that communities can send to the ADB during the Safeguard Policy Update process. This initiative aims to show the ADB that while few people can participate physically in the regional consultations that will take place during the Safeguard Policy Update process, there are many more stakeholders in this process. The project is therefore both an advocacy campaign directed at the Asian Development Bank, as well as an important opportunity for affected communities to raise their voices and demand participation in the policy decisions that affect their lives.
