Privacy Policy

The International Accountability Project (IAP) is genuinely concerned about the privacy of its users, and is committed to providing a secure and private environment for the free flow of information. The public areas of this site are open to all visitors to read, search, browse, and download, at no cost. Visitors need not register or give any personal identification to use the public areas. No software or hardware techniques are employed to covertly capture a user's name or email address.

Where visitors choose to provide the site with a name, email address or other information in order to request further information, IAP keeps all such response lists confidential and securely stored.

Personally identifiable information collected in any area of the website will not be sold, rented or exchanged with any other organization or entity unless the user is first notified and expressly agrees in advance.

IAP does not utilize "cookies" (small files that may be placed temporarily on your hard disk for record-keeping purposes) in connection with the website, and users who have their cookies disabled will experience full functionality. IAP does not use any web bugs, or clear gifs (invisible graphics that enable tracking). IAP employs a simple "count" system that tells us how many visits the site receives in a given period, but no identities or individually-identifiable information is gathered by this process. Our web servers automatically log standard information, including IP address, browser types, and access times. This information is used for internal research or analysis purposes only and not stored for long term uses.

All applicable laws are followed with respect to data collection from minors. No use of personal data collected on the website, other than those uses specified there, will be made. There will be no sharing of data collected from minors with any third parties at any time under any circumstances.

IAP may partner with or link to other organizations and companies to provide services to members, and their pages are governed by their own privacy policies. IAP will endeavor to influence these vendors toward appropriate practices in the area of user privacy, but cannot be held accountable for the policies or practices of these third parties. IAP recommends that visitors to any website examine the privacy policy posted on that site for their own protection.
