Photo Slide Shows

These slide shows are a compilation of photos taken by IAP staff and fellows. The slide shows include photos visits with partners and displaced communities in India, Cambodia and Thailand, and visits to problem project sites. We have used them to share communities' stories and realities in a powerful visual way, thereby strengthening our advocacy at international financial institutions.

Through the Lens in Peru
This slideshow shows what IAP's Emily Joiner has been seeing in Peru, where she is currently conducting research to better understand how the the International Financial Corporation's (IFC's) Sustainability Policy and Performance Standard on Involutnary Resettlement has been implemented and if it has been effective in protecting peoples rights and livelihoods.

India and Thailand
In June and July 2007, IAP Research Fellow Nina Robertson conducted a two-month scoping trip in India and Thailand to gather ideas and recommendations on how to design our 'People's Guide to Resisting Displacement.' Narmada
Photographed by IAP President, Dana Clark, these are views of the Narmada Valley, India, and its residents. Many of the areas in the photos were submerged by rising water due to a massive dam project financed by the World Bank.

Cambodia
This is a photo slideshow presented by IAP and regional partners at a panel during the Asian Development Bank (ADB) annual meetings in Kyoto, Japan in May 2007. IAP’s Joanna Levitt co-presented with two Cambodian colleagues, Leakhana Kol (Resettlement action Network) and Sin Chhin (community leader), about the resettlement impacts of the ADB-funded Highway One Improvement Project in Cambodia.
